By definition, a Tontine is an association of people who contributes to a common fund to help their community.
I’ve teamed up with my friend Yue Wu to interpret this idea and to create the identity of the Parisian pop-up restaurant of my friend Phamily First .
We’ve illustrated 4 different options for each of the 7 letters of the word. Each letter refers to music bands we love, movie titles we’ve watched since we were kids, signs we’ve seen on the streets where we grew up, characters from our different origins… They are the cultural richness of our communities.
The menu cover was a template we could fill thanks to the 28 (7×4) stamps we’ve created. By using randomly one option by letter, all these stamps make in total 16384 different logo possibilities!
The totem was located in the center of the restaurant so people could have fun with and create their own logos by picking their favorite letters.
